About Us
Hello and welcome!
You may be new to the parish or may have lived here for many years – either way, we hope you will find the information in this site interesting and helpful.
The Church of the Ascension Oughtibridge is the Anglican Parish Church serving the villages of Oughtibridge, Worrall and Wharncliffe Side. The church building is located on Church Street, Oughtibridge. We also have a modern Parish Centre for church social and outreach events and a variety of community activities.
Our main morning service is at 10.30am. Our evening service is at 6.30pm.
For those who want to enquire into the Christian faith we run a DVD-based course called Christianity Explored. For those who are beginning their journey of faith, there is Just for Starters.
For regular members of the church family, there are mid-week housegroups.
As the parish church family, we are a diverse group of people whose lives have been transformed by an encounter with the living Jesus Christ. In dying for our sins, Jesus has reconciled us to the great and perfect Creator God who made each and every one of us. In rising from the dead, Jesus has given us new life in God's everlasting Kingdom of love and joy and peace.
We are so excited to tell you more about who Jesus is, what he has done for you and me, and why he's so important to us that we've dedicated our lives to sharing the Good News about him!
